Patrick E. Stockalper

Patrick E. Stockalper is a partner in the Law Firm of Reback, McAndrews, Kjar, Warford & Stockalper, located in Manhattan Beach, California, which specializes in all areas of civil defense litigation. Mr. Stockalper has concentrated his practice in many areas of civil defense litigation including professional liability, general liability, products liability, premises liability, and employment law.

Mr. Stockalper has been named as the 2009-2010 President of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than ½ of 1% of American lawyers. Mr. Stockalper is a Charter Fellow of the LCA, a Barrister in one of the LCA’s distinguished trial orders, and has served as a Co-Chair of the California delegation of the society. Mr. Stockalper is also the Chair of the LCA Medical Malpractice Committee and has begun formation of the American Academy of Medical Malpractice Lawyers under the auspices of the LCA. On November 22, 2008, he was featured as the newly named President-Elect on Champions of Justice, the highly rated radio program of LCA Fellow Thomas V. Girardi.

Mr. Stockalper is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and was selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer in 2007, 2008, and 2009. He is on the Board of Directors for the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (ASCDC) and is a member of the Southern California Association for Healthcare Risk Management (SCAHRM). He also serves as a court appointed mediator and arbitrator, and has previously served as a Judge Pro Tem with the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Mr. Stockalper is a previous recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award and has been a member of the Who’s Who in America. Mr. Stockalper has served as a panelist for various continuing legal education programs, including the National Business Institute and Lorman Education Services. He is a frequent speaker at seminars for healthcare organizations in the areas of medical and dental malpractice and has been a speaker at prior Litigation Counsel of America conferences. Mr. Stockalper earned his B.A. degree with honors from the University of California at Irvine in 1985 and his J.D. from the University of San Diego Law School in 1991. Prior to entering the profession of law, he served as a legislative assistant in both the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives.

Mr. Stockalper was admitted to the California State Bar in 1991. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court-Southern District of California, U.S. District Court-Central District Of California, and Ninth Circuit Federal Courts of Appeal.
